Did you know that the average American spends three cumulative weeks of their life traveling in a car each year?! That is a lot of time to be traveling on four wheels. You want to spend that time in as much comfort as possible we would imagine. This is why the interior of your vehicle is so important. Here at VIP European Auto, we are interior pros. We have spent an unbelievable amount of time restoring, repairing, and replacing interiors. In today’s blog, we will look at 4 different types of interior.
Nylon Upholstery
Nylon is one of the two types of fabric interiors. It is also one of the most common. Nylon is both incredibly durable and porous. This means it last a long time, but it can get very dirty. We recommend you clean your nylon interior on a regular basis using hot water and a mild detergent.
Polyester Upholstery
Polyester is the second type of fabric interior. It is a very soft, comfortable fabric that mimics the texture of suede leather. Like nylon, it is very porous, which makes prone to staining. It is also somewhat of a hassle to clean. Steam-cleaning is a good option for polyester, although we would recommend hiring a profession to do the job.
Vinyl Upholstery
Vinyl, our first non-fabric interior, is still very common. One of the benefits of vinyl interiors is that they are relatively easy to maintain and keep clean. As it is non-porous and nearly waterproof, you can generally get the job done with just warm water and a rag.
Leather Upholstery
The king of interiors. Nothing screams luxury and elegance like a leather interior. Leather interiors also require more maintenance than any other interior, but that is just one of the costs for quality.
